Pune, 21st March 2024: The previously cloudy weather in various parts of Maharashtra, including Vidarbha, has dissipated, paving the way for dry conditions in the region over the next four to five days. Additionally, there’s a forecast for intensifying heatwaves, with a marginal rise in minimum temperatures and an average increase of two to three degrees Celsius in maximum temperatures.

As per the India Meteorological Department (IMD), a low-pressure line extending from Northeast Uttar Pradesh to East Vidarbha and an active westerly cold front along the western border of the country are the prevailing meteorological conditions. However, the state is unlikely to experience a flurry of cold winds. Following the clearance of cloudy weather in Vidarbha, dry conditions are anticipated across Maharashtra for the upcoming period.

On Wednesday (20th March), Solapur recorded the highest temperature in Maharashtra at 39 degrees Celsius. Marathwada, West Maharashtra, and Central Maharashtra registered an average maximum temperature of 36 degrees Celsius. Vidarbha, which previously saw unseasonal rain and cloudy weather, observed an average maximum temperature of 34 degrees Celsius. Along the coast, the average maximum temperature stood at 35 degrees Celsius, with Santacruz recording a maximum temperature of 38.7 degrees Celsius.
