Earthquake Strikes Afghanistan, More Than 250 Killed; Tremors Felt in Pakistan Too

Kabul, 21st June 2022: Strong tremors of earthquake were felt in Pakistan’s eastern region of Afghanistan, Paktika province on Wednesday. According to the local media, 250 people died due to the earthquake and the magnitude of the earthquake was measured at 6.1 on the Richter scale.

 

 

 

According to the information received by the disaster management officials, more damage has been done in this earthquake in Paktika. Mohammad Nasim Haqqani, the head of the Taliban administration’s disaster management authority, said that relief and rescue work is going on in the affected areas.

 

 

 

Media reported quoting local officials as saying that several houses were damaged in the disaster and efforts are on to rescue people trapped under the rubble.
