Mumbai/Nagpur, 26th June 2021: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has arrested personal assistant Kundan Shinde and personal secretary Sanjeev Palande of former Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh, in connection with an alleged money laundering case registered against Deshmukh. The ED raided Deshmukh’s premises all day yesterday.

Deshmukh on Friday refuted the allegations against him, questioning why former Mumbai Police Commissioner Param Bir Singh was silent when he was the commissioner.

“The role of Singh in setting up an explosives-laden vehicle near the residence of industrialist Mukesh Ambani was questionable. Out of anger at his removal, he accused me of corruption”, Deshmukh said.
