Pune, 12th February 2021: Students who have applied for various scholarships on Maha-DBT portal, and did not get it due to technical reasons should not be pressurised to pay the fees by education institutions. The order was given by the regional technical education department.

Joint director of the department Dr VV Jadhav said, “To get benefits of various educational scholarships given by the state government, many students apply through Maha-DBT portal. The application was accepted by the concerned authority but due to some technical reasons, the scholarship amount was not disbursed yet. This is not the fault of the student. However, we have come to know that some educational institutions are pressurising the students to pay the educational fees.”

The covid-19 conditions have already put an impact on the financial condition of parents, therefore it is not appropriate for educational institutions to ask them to pay the fees. The institutions must obey the instructions of the state government and do not pressurise the students to pay the fees, he added.
