Eid Celebrations In Pune On Thursday, April 11; Check Traffic Diversions In Camp And Kondhwa Areas

Pune, 10th April 2024: With Ramadan Eid slated for Thursday (11th April), preparations are underway across the city to facilitate the festive celebrations. In light of the expected congregation of worshippers at mosques and Eidgah grounds, the Pune City Traffic Police has announced traffic diversions to ensure smooth vehicular movement and minimize congestion during the festivities.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic), Rohidas Pawar, has issued directives outlining the traffic diversions to be implemented on the day of Eid. These measures aim to maintain order and safety on the roads, particularly around areas where Eid prayers are traditionally held.

For the Namaz proceedings scheduled at Golibar Maidan Chowk in Camp on 11/04/2024 from 06:00 AM onwards, traffic diversions will be enforced as necessary to accommodate the event.

Motorists are advised to adhere to the following alternative routes to navigate through the affected areas:

1. Shankar Sheth Road leading to Swargate from Golibar Maidan Chowk will remain closed during Namaz.
– Alternate Route: Motorists can turn at CDO Chowk onto Salisbury Park Road, proceed to Giridhar Bhawan Chowk, and continue to their destination via Seven Loves Chowk.

2. Traffic from CDO Chowk to Golibar Maidan Chowk will be diverted.
– Alternative Route: Vehicles from Lullanagar can access Khanya Maruti Chowk, Khatav Bangla Chowk, and Napier Road to reach their destination.

3. Traffic from Seven Loves Chowk to Golibar Maidan Chowk will be rerouted.
– Alternate Route: Motorists can take Salisbury Park Road, CDO Chowk, and Bhairobanala to reach their destination.

4. Traffic heading to Golibar Maidan Chowk from Solapur Road via Mammadevi Chowk will be redirected.
– Alternative Route: Vehicles can navigate via Bishop School or Command Hospital diversion and proceed to their destination via Napier Road or CDO Chowk.

5. Traffic from Bhairobanala to Golibar Maidan Chowk will be rerouted at Bhairobanala.
– Alternative Route: Vehicles can access Empress Garden or Lullanagar to reach their destination.

6. Heavy vehicles from the Kondhwa area headed towards Golibar Maidan Chowk will face restrictions.
– Alternate Route: Heavy vehicles can travel via Lullanagar Chowk or Gangadham Chowk to reach their destination.

Additionally, traffic diversions will be enforced in other parts of the city where Eid prayers are scheduled. Motorists are urged to cooperate with the traffic police to ensure a hassle-free Eid celebration, police have appealed.
