Katraj, 31st May 2025: A 23-year-old engineering student has lodged a police complaint against an elderly couple, alleging that they insulted a memorial information board at Shivshrusti, a historical theme park dedicated to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, located in Ambegaon Budruk, Pune.

The Bharati Vidyapeeth Police have registered an FIR based on the complaint filed by Navnath Tukaram Amrale, a student. According to the FIR, the incident occurred around 3:00 AM on Saturday, May 31.

Amrale stated that he was out with his roommate, Abhijeet Sitapure, in search of food when they passed by the Shivshrusti premises. They noticed a grey Alto car parked near the gate with its headlights on.

To their shock, they allegedly saw an elderly man urinating on the memorial board, while a woman stood beside him, appearing to record the act on her phone. The complainant further claimed that their acquaintances—Akshay Gaikwad and Abhi Bagh—also witnessed the incident and recorded a video.

When confronted, the man reportedly identified himself as Amol Arun Kulkarni (59) and the woman as his wife, Sneha Kulkarni (57). According to the complaint, Amol responded arrogantly and allegedly said, “I urinated on the board. Do what you want,” while using abusive language.

Despite the students’ attempts to resolve the situation peacefully, the man allegedly continued to argue. The group then contacted the police and escorted the couple to Bharati Vidyapeeth Police Station.

Amol Kulkarni and Sneha Kulkarni have been booked under sections 299 and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS).
