Elderly Woman’s Murder Solved: Pune Rural Police Arrest Suspects in Jategaon Robbery

Shikrapur/Pune, 3r May 2024:In a significant breakthrough, the local crime branch (LCB) of the Pune rural police has apprehended the perpetrators responsible for the heinous murder and robbery of an elderly woman in Jategaon, Shikrapur area.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Avinash alias Langdya alias Gilya Ramesh Kale (28), hailing from Kolgaon Moharwadi in District Ahmednagar, and Praveen Deepak Bhosle (21), a resident of Jategaon Phata, Shirur, District Pune. Additionally, a minor has been detained in connection with the crime.

The gang leader, Avinash Kale, has a notorious criminal record, with 15 serious cases of robbery and burglary registered against him. The incident occurred on April 24 when Kale, Bhosale, and their minor accomplices executed a robbery at midnight in a house located in Jategaon Budruk area of Shikrapur. During the robbery, the accused brutally assaulted 76-year-old Krishnabai Dnyaneshwar Ingwale and looted her jewelry. The victim sustained severe injuries in the attack and tragically succumbed to her injuries before receiving medical treatment.

The incident sent shockwaves through the Jategaon area, prompting immediate police action. A case was registered at the Shikrapur police station, leading to the intervention of Superintendent of Police Pankaj Deshmukh, Additional Superintendent Ramesh Chopde, and Sub Divisional Officer Prashant Dhole, who visited the crime scene to oversee the investigation.

The investigative team, comprising Local Crime Branch Police Inspector Avinash Shilimkar, Shikrapur Police Station Inspector Ratnadeep Gaikwad, Assistant Inspector Rahul Gawde, along with officers Kuldeep Sankpal, Yogesh Langute, and Amit Sidpatil, pursued leads to unravel the truth. Subsequent investigations conclusively linked the accused Kale, Bhosale, and their accomplice to the robbery and murder.

Following the breakthrough, a police team promptly detained the suspects.
