Election Commission Orders PCMC To Prepare Voter List For By-Election On 3 Seats

Pimpri, February 3, 2021: The Election Commission of India has asked Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) to prepare a voter list for the by-election on three seats. The seats are vacant as the three elected members died due to covid-19 infection.

The deceased include Datta Sane, an elected member from Chikhali ward 1, Javed Shaikh from ward 14, Kalbhornagar and Lakshman Unde from Dighi-Bopkhel area.

Due to the death of these members, the seats are vacant, and a by-election will be held for these seats. The election commission decided to hold the election based on a voter list prepared on 15th January 2021. The primary list will be published on 16th February 2021. People can register their objection and suggestions between 16 to 23 February. The final voter list will be published on 3rd March and voting centres list will be published by 8th March 2021. The final certified voter list will be published on 12th March 2021.

The commission ordered the municipal commissioner to make proper changes in the list which will be made available to all public platforms and people can see it on various websites. Considering the Covid-19 situation, each centre will have 700 to 800 voters. The commission also gave directions regarding ‘Adarsh Matdan Kendra’, where various facilities will be made available according to the needs of the people.
