New Delhi, 12th August 2025: Tech entrepreneur Elon Musk has announced a special gift for users of his company’s AI chatbot, Grok AI. The platform’s Imagine AI feature — which allows users to create customised photos and videos from simple text prompts — will now be available for free. The update is being rolled out for both Android and iOS users.

Grok Imagine, described by Musk as a “fun AI tool,” enables users to generate creative images and even transform them into short videos. According to Musk, more than 44 million images have already been created through the feature. The announcement comes just days after OpenAI unveiled its latest AI model, ChatGPT 5.

The launch places Grok AI in direct competition with OpenAI, Meta AI, and Google, all of which already offer their own creative image and video generation tools. Musk claims Grok Imagine makes the process “even more interesting” by letting users also create videos from their own photos.

How to Create Photos and Videos with Grok Imagine
Download the Grok app — available on the Google Play Store for Android and Apple App Store for iOS.
Open the app and tap the Imagine tab.
Enter your desired image description in the prompt box.
Optionally, upload your own image for AI enhancement.
The AI will then process the request and deliver the generated image, which can be customised further through additional commands.

Turning Images into Videos
Once Grok generates your image, simply give a second prompt instructing the AI to convert it into a video. The tool will seamlessly transform your creation into a short animated clip.

With this update, Grok Imagine is aiming to make AI-powered creativity more accessible — turning anyone with a smartphone into a digital artist or filmmaker.
