Empress Garden to Host Pune’s Biggest Flower Show from January 24 to 27

Camp, 11th January 2025: The historic Empress Garden in Pune is all set to host its annual flower show, a vibrant celebration of nature and creativity, from January 24 to 27. Organized by the Agri Horticulture Society of Western India, this much-anticipated event will showcase an array of stunning floral displays, bonsai trees, and artistic flower arrangements that promise to captivate flower enthusiasts.

The inauguration ceremony will be graced by Dr. Suhas Diwase, Settlement Commissioner and Director of Land Records, on Friday, January 24, at 12 noon. Speaking at a press conference, event coordinators Suresh Pingle and Anupama Barve highlighted the uniqueness of this year’s show, with Japanese-style flower decorations and intricate bonsai displays set to be the main attractions.

The flower show will feature participation from nurseries across the country, including Pune, Kolhapur, Sangli, Nashik, and even Andhra Pradesh. This wide representation ensures a diverse collection of plants, flowers, and gardening techniques for visitors to explore.

Adding a special touch to the event, painting and handwriting competitions for schoolchildren, including those with special needs, will take place on Sunday, January 12. Over 1,000 students from various schools are expected to participate, showcasing their creativity and skills.

To encourage participation among older adults and gardening enthusiasts, a series of competitions for gardeners will also be organized. Categories include artistic flower arrangements, fruit and vegetable displays, and unique potted plants. These activities aim to foster a deeper appreciation for gardening and the natural world.

The Empress Garden, managed by the Agri Horticulture Society of Western India, offers visitors a tranquil escape amidst lush greenery. As part of the flower show, the garden will feature newly designed landscapes, attractive pot displays, and innovative floral arrangements.
Since its establishment in 1830, the Agri Horticulture Society has been dedicated to promoting environmental awareness and fostering a love for nature among the public. Through initiatives like the flower show, the organization continues to provide opportunities for people to connect with nature and appreciate its beauty.
