Energy Minister directs Mahavitaran to electrify inaccessible tribal villages in the state

Mumbai, 16 July,2020 : The state energy minister Dr Nitin Raut has asked Mahavitaran to come out with plans for electrification of remote and inaccessible tribal areas in Melaghat and Gadchiroli during a video conference held on Thursday.
During the video conference Dr Raut also instructed the Mahavitaran officials to find out areas in other parts of the state which couldn’t get electrified due to geographical difficulties. He also asked them to make plans for their electrification.
There are some villages located in forest areas which could not get electrified due to the lack of permission from the forest department for laying distribution network. Hence he directed the principal energy secretary to hold meeting with the forest department for clearance.
During the conference he took review of transformer failure and oil supply, construction of parellel electric network with Samruddhi Express  Way, underground cable network in coastal areas, upgrade of dashboard and maintaining proper ownership records of the civil assets owned by all the four power companies.
During the meeting he instructed the Mahavitaran to release electric connections to the applicants from paid pending list and also to the beneficiaries of SC, ST and OBC schemes. He further instructed to implement the one day one village maintenance scheme.
He appreciated the Gondia pattern for revenue collection and asked to implement the said pattern in other parts of the state. He asked to strengthen distribution network in the peripheral area of Nagpur city. He also took review of the work of  faulty meter replacement by smart meters in Nagpur city.
