EPFO Extends Deadline For Pension Option Validation Applications
Delhi, 2nd May 2023:
The Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) had set up an online facility for obtaining applications from pensioners/members for the validation of their option/joint option, as per the order of the Hon’ble Supreme Court. However, despite receiving over 12 lakh applications, several representations were received from various quarters seeking an extension of the deadline beyond 3rd May 2023.
After considering these representations, it has been decided that the deadline for filing applications will now be extended until 26th June 2023. This decision was made to provide a larger window of opportunity and to ease any difficulties faced by pensioners/members in submitting their applications. The EPFO has sympathetically considered the various demands received from employees, employers and their associations in making this decision.
