ESIC Pune Celebrates 395th Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Jayanti with Grandeur

Pune, 21st February 2025: The Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) Sub-Regional Office in Pune marked the 395th birth anniversary of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj with a grand celebration under the joint aegis of the ESIC SC/ST Employees-Officers Association and the ESIC Employees Union.

The event was presided over by Joint Director In-Charge, Sukanta Chandra Das, who paid floral tribute to the statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Unnati Kawate’s spirited Shivgarjana invocation set a reverent and energetic tone for the program.

Addressing the gathering, Deputy Director Rajesh Singh highlighted Shivaji Maharaj’s role in fostering national unity. Vaibhav Dudhmal, General Secretary of the SC/ST Officers and Employees Association, emphasized his influence on nationalism and the freedom movement. Satish Babar, General Secretary of the ESIC Employees Union, described the Maratha ruler as an ideal king whose governance principles continue to serve as a guiding force in modern society.

In his presidential address, Sukanta Chandra Das underscored Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s lifelong dedication to justice and equality, calling him a timeless inspiration for nation-building. He urged everyone to imbibe and propagate his values.

The event saw enthusiastic participation from officers and employees, reflecting its significance in fostering unity and patriotism. Nikhil Ugle skillfully hosted the program, while Pankaj Belhekar delivered the vote of thanks. The celebration concluded with the recitation of the national anthem.
