Every 2 km Emergency Calling Booths To Be Installed On Mumbai-Pune Expressway, MSRDC And Vi Sign Agreement
Mumbai/Pune, 8th February 2024: The Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation Ltd. (MSRDC) has joined forces with Vi, a leading telecom operator, to bolster communication, connectivity, and public safety along the 95-kilometer Mumbai-Pune Expressway. This exclusive agreement entails the installation of emergency calling booths every two kilometers, supported by Vi’s network, facilitating direct communication between commuters and the state highway police control room during emergencies.
Under the agreement, Vi will ensure network reliability at each emergency calling booth, providing 24×7 public safety and seamless communication for commuters. Vi SIM cards will be integrated into both the emergency calling booths and the state highway police control room to ensure uniformity and prevent any network disruptions. MSRDC will oversee equipment maintenance and handle commuter queries or concerns.
