CM Shri Chouhan inspects affected crops at village Amkhera Sukha in Ashok Nagar

Bhopal : Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that every possible assistance will be given to affected farmer after survey of hailstorm affected crops. There would be no shortage of funds for relief to farmers. The Chief Minister inspected crops affected by unseasonal rains and hailstorm at village Amkhera Sukha in Ashok Nagar district today.

Shri Chouhan said that hailstorm has caused considerable loss to farmers. It is agonizing that crops grown with hard work by farmers get destroyed by natural calamities on ripening. He said that the government will not allow farmers’ lives to scatter. They would be helped to tide over this crisis. He directed to undertake survey transparently. List of survey should be displayed at Panchayat building. Any farmer can register his objection after going through the list.

The Chief Minister said that the farmers with cent percent crop loss will be provided wheat, rice and salt at Re. one per kg till next crop. Loan recovery will remain suspended and the state government will bear loan interest. Besides, seeds and fertilizers for next crop will also be provided at zero percent interest rate. For local labourers, large-scale relief works will be started. He said that maximum crop cutting experiments should be made to ensure benefit of crop insurance scheme to farmers. He said that Rs. 25 thousand each will be provided for marriages of affected farmers’ daughters.

The Chief Minister entered field of Shri Devi Singh Kushwaha at village Amkhera Sukha and inspected damaged crops of wheat and gram. Consoling farmers, he said that compensation would be provided to them soon. The Chief Minister assessed crop loss in the fields of farmers Shri Khilan Singh and Shri Lalliram Valmik. MLA Shri Gopilal Jatav, other public representatives and officers accompanied the Chief Minister.
