Pune, 26th June 2026: The investigation into the alleged murder of Pune businessman Ketan Agarwal has uncovered new details, with his fiancée, Siya Goyal, reportedly telling police that she had reservations about marrying him and had wanted to end the relationship before their wedding.

Goyal and her alleged partner, Chetan Chaudhary, are currently in police custody in connection with Agarwal’s death. Investigators claim the two were involved in a conspiracy that culminated in the 26-year-old’s death during a trip to Lohagad Fort.

The incident, which took place on June 18, was initially treated as an accidental fall during a trek. However, objections raised by Agarwal’s family prompted a deeper investigation, eventually leading police to suspect foul play and arrest the two accused.

During interrogation, Goyal reportedly told investigators that she had conveyed her unwillingness to proceed with the marriage. Among the reasons cited by her was Agarwal’s use of a hair patch to cover baldness, a detail that has since drawn widespread public attention.

The victim’s father, Vishal Agarwal, has dismissed the claim that his son’s hair loss was hidden from the bride’s family. He has reportedly maintained that both families were aware of Ketan’s use of a hair patch and questioned how such a matter could be linked to his killing.

As the probe has progressed, the two accused have allegedly offered conflicting versions of events, with each accusing the other of being the mastermind behind the crime. Investigators, however, are reportedly examining evidence that points to a carefully planned conspiracy rather than a spur-of-the-moment act.

Police have also claimed that Goyal and Chaudhary were in a relationship while she remained engaged to Agarwal. Investigators believe the pair considered him an obstacle to their future together and allegedly chose to eliminate him instead of calling off the engagement. According to reports, concerns about family honour and social repercussions may have influenced their actions.

The investigation has further revealed that the incident at Lohagad Fort may not have been the first attempt on Agarwal’s life. Authorities are reportedly looking into evidence suggesting that previous attempts to harm him may have been made before the alleged murder was carried out.

CCTV footage, digital evidence and witness statements are now being pieced together to reconstruct the events leading up to Agarwal’s death. Police are continuing to investigate the exact motive and sequence of events in a case that has shocked Pune and sparked intense public discussion.
