Pune, 26th June 2026: Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has assured the family of Pune realtor Ketan Agarwal that the murder case will be tried in a fast-track court and that senior advocate Ujjwal Nikam will be appointed as the Special Public Prosecutor. The assurance came after Ketan’s father, Vishal Agarwal, met the Chief Minister in Pune on Friday and sought speedy justice for his son.

Ketan Agarwal was allegedly murdered at Lohagad Fort on June 18 by his fiancée, Siya Goyal, and her friend, Chetan Chaudhary. Both have been arrested and are currently in police custody.

In a post on X, Fadnavis said the state government was committed to ensuring that those responsible for the murder receive the strictest punishment and that no effort would be spared in securing justice for the bereaved family.

During the meeting, Vishal Agarwal requested that the case be heard by a fast-track court and sought the appointment of senior criminal lawyer Ujjwal Nikam as the Special Public Prosecutor.

The Chief Minister said he immediately accepted both demands and directed the Secretary of the Law and Judiciary Department to initiate the necessary process. According to Fadnavis, Nikam has also agreed to appear as the Special Public Prosecutor in the case.

The state government said the move was aimed at ensuring an expeditious trial and effective prosecution in the high-profile murder case, which has attracted widespread public attention.
