Experts push for integrated and holistic approach for better future of economy

Pune, 30 August 2019 : While the industry is going through challenging times, innovations and new business models and an integrated and holistic approach can help for a better future opined experts.

 

Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Pune under the aegis of CII Forum of Operational Excellence organised the fourth edition of CII Business Excellence Conclave 2019 on 29 August 2019  in Pune. Around 130+ industry and academia participants attended the Conference.

Ltd and Immediate Past President – The Institute of Cost Accountants of India, Alakesh Roy, Vice Chairman, CII Pune Zonal Council and Managing Director, Zamil Steel India & General Director, Zamil Steel Vietnam, Sanjeev Fadnavis, President Nitor Infotech Ltd, Abhay Pendse, Convenor CII Pune Forum for operational excellence and Vice President and Head –Shindewadi Works, Godrej and Boyce Mfg.Co.Ltd; Rajnikant Behera, Co-Convenor, CII Pune Forum on Operational Excellence and Executive Director RSB Transmission India ltd and Shrikant Bapat, Chairman, CII Pune Zonal Council and General Manager- Building Technologies & Solutions, India and Managing Director, Johnson Controls (India) Pvt. Ltd were present on the occasion.

 

Speaking on the occasion Amit Apte Director – Levare Consultants Pvt. Ltd and Immediate Past President – The Institute of Cost Accountants of India said that recent conditions especially in the Auto and FMCG sectors indicate slowdown. Although the report of United Nations on Global Economy indicate a growth rate of 3 percent which fairly steady,  the progress has been uneven in different parts of the world, some doing well than others. There is  growing escalation of trade disputes between many countries, of which only US-China is highlighted. Citing the example of recent floods in western and southern parts of India he said, extreme weather conditions caused to climatic change is also affecting businesses.. But India is a growing economy with primarily domestic captive audience which acts as a cushion to global conditions. Industry must have  innovations, new business models and adopt to new things to sail through the rough phase.

Alakesh Roy, Vice Chairman, CII Pune Zonal Council and Managing Director, Zamil Steel India & General Director, Zamil Steel Vietnam said that gone are the days where necessity was the mother of inventions. It is not important to give what customers need , but also to come up with what customers can accept. Businesses need to have a holistic and integrated approach. People need to be radical in their business though process.

Sanjeev Fadnavis, President, Nitor Infotech Ltd gave a brief presentation on the report titled Magic Triangle of Digital Transformation which covers challenges and opportunities in adopting associated with the use of digital technologies.
