Explore Pune’s Past: Heritage Walk on Nov 29–30 to Highlight City’s Icons
Pune, 28th November 2025: To reconnect citizens with the city’s historical and cultural legacy, the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has announced a special Heritage Walk to be held on Saturday and Sunday, November 29 and 30, starting at 7 am. The initiative aims to raise awareness about Pune’s rich heritage and encourage residents to explore the city beyond its rapidly expanding urban landscape.
The Heritage Walk will cover several iconic landmarks that have played a key role in shaping Pune’s identity over centuries. The route will include Shivaji Bridge, Ghorpade Ghat, Shaniwar Wada, Kasba Ganapati Temple, Lal Mahal, Nanawada, Bhau Rangari’s residence, Tambadi Jogeshwari Temple, Dagdusheth Ganapati Temple, Bhide Wada, Nagar Vachan Mandir, Belbag Temple, Mahatma Phule Market, Tulsibaug Ram Temple and Vishrambaug Wada. Historians and heritage experts will accompany the participants to share insights into the architectural, cultural and historical significance of each site.
PMC officials said the programme has been designed for history enthusiasts, students, families and tourists keen on learning more about Pune’s past. The walk is being organised by the Heritage Management Department as part of ongoing efforts to preserve heritage structures and promote cultural tourism.
Ticket prices have been kept affordable to ensure greater participation:
• Adults – ₹300
• Higher secondary students – ₹200
• Secondary school students – ₹100
• Foreign tourists – ₹500
