New Delhi, 27th December 2023: A powerful explosion occurred on Tuesday evening behind the Israeli Embassy in Chanakyapuri, one of the most secure areas in the capital. The incident has prompted heightened security measures across all agencies, with the Delhi Police and other security forces on high alert. The explosion has raised concerns, and an investigation is currently underway to determine the nature and motive behind the blast.

Security agencies, including the Special Cell of Delhi Police, are actively involved in the ongoing investigation. The Special Cell is expected to file a case related to the blast today, based on the findings of the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) team.

The FSL team is currently examining samples collected from the blast site. If any explosive material is detected, the Special Cell will proceed to register a case. A letter discovered at the scene bears the mark of an organization and features typed content in Hinglish. However, the specific organization associated with the letterhead is yet to be identified.

Initial findings from the investigation indicate the possible use of a chemical-based explosive, as no traces of an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) have been found so far.

In a significant development, Delhi Police have arrested two suspects following an analysis of CCTV footage related to the blast. Authorities are actively working to determine the suspects’ connection to the incident and how they gained access to the highly secure area around the Israeli Embassy.

On Tuesday, various agencies, including the National Investigation Agency (NIA), conducted a thorough investigation at the blast site, lasting approximately three hours. The collaborative efforts of these agencies aim to unravel the circumstances surrounding the explosion and ensure the safety and security of the affected area.
