Facing Power Outages? MSEDCL Urges Public to Register Complaints Online or via Toll-Free Numbers Instead of Calling Linemen or Officers

Pune, 27th April 2025: Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) has appealed to electricity consumers to promptly register complaints regarding power outages and electricity bills through designated toll-free numbers instead of making personal calls to employees. The toll-free numbers 1912, 18002333435, and 18002123435 are operational 24×7 to ensure quick grievance redressal.
Currently, Maharashtra has nearly three crore electricity consumers, with around 30 lakh consumers in the Baramati circle alone. MSEDCL emphasized that using advanced technology and centralized customer service centers helps deliver uninterrupted electricity supply and accurate billing. Timely registration of complaints with correct location details enables faster resolution, especially in cases involving damage caused by road accidents, natural disasters, or other disruptions to the vast power distribution network.
Register Complaints Easily through Toll-Free Numbers, SMS, and App
MSEDCL officials clarified that complaints made directly to individual employees over the phone are often not registered in the system. During a power disruption, field staff receive multiple calls simultaneously, making it difficult to locate faults and creating safety risks while working on live lines.
Instead, consumers are encouraged to use the official toll-free numbers, where complaints are immediately logged into an online system. Consumers should provide their 12-digit customer number while lodging a complaint for quicker processing. According to MSEDCL, all complaints registered online must be addressed within the time frame set by the Maharashtra Electricity Regulatory Commission.
In addition to phone calls, consumers can also register complaints through SMS or missed calls. A missed call to 022-50897100 from the registered mobile number or an SMS with the text “NOPOWER” sent to 9930399303 will automatically lodge a complaint and trigger an acknowledgment message.
MSEDCL Website and Mobile App for 24×7 Services
MSEDCL further urged customers to use its mobile app and website for easier service access. The MSEDCL app, available on Playstore and App Store, allows users to manage multiple electricity connections and access services from anywhere. Similarly, the official website www.mahadiscom.in offers a wide range of online services related to billing, complaints, and power supply management.
Officials stressed that with the growing dependence on technology, consumers should shift from traditional complaint methods to digital platforms to ensure efficient and safe restoration of electricity supply.
