Katraj, 30th January 2024: In a somber turn of events, the Pune Police Force is grappling with the untimely demise of Assistant Commissioner of Police Ashok Dhumal at the age of 57. A dedicated officer, Dhumal passed away on Monday, leaving behind his grief-stricken family and a mourning police force.

Residing in the Ambegaon Budruk area near Bharti Vidyapeeth, Dhumal’s life took a tragic turn on January 14 when he accidentally fell from the gallery of his flat, resulting in a severe head injury. Promptly rushed to a private hospital for medical attention, Dhumal fought a valiant battle for survival but passed away on Monday night.

The news of ACP Dhumal’s passing sent shockwaves across the police force, where he was well-regarded for his commitment and service.

He was earlier posted as police inspector at Paud police station, Pune rural police. After promotion, he assumed the responsibility of Assistant Commissioner of Police (Faraskhana division) in Zone One within the Pune City Police.
