Pune, May 12, 2020: Keeping in mind, the hard work and sustained efforts of the Police personnel while enforcing the lockdown in the city, Farmpal Technologies Pvt. Ltd, an innovative tech-driven farm-to-market service headed by two Pune-based entrepreneurs, Karan Hon and Puneet Sethi has extended a helping hand by distributing fruits and vegetables to several Pune Police personnel in areas including Baner, Balewadi, Aundh, Pashan, Kothrud, Hinjewadi, Pimpale Saudagar, Pimpale Nilakh and Wakad daily at free of cost.

As several restrictions have been imposed due to the lockdown, the start-up is also distributing vegetables to the migrant workers in the city and has also actively helped with emergency delivery of groceries to organisations such as Osho and local dining hall / mess for migrant workers. Even though there have been travel restrictions in Shivajinagar, Kalyani Nagar and Koregaon park areas, Farmpal has been managing to provide groceries once a week at their delivery center in the said areas.

“Many migrant workers do not have access to daily supplies of fruits and vegetables so as an effort to help these workers, we started supplying fresh produce to them and have reached out to over a few hundred workers at different construction sites. Additionally, we have also started giving out fruits and vegetables to the police force deployed across different parts of the city and cater to about 100-250 officers daily,” Puneet Sethi. CO founded. FarmPal.

As the demand and availability of Agri produce is at its peak, the start-up is also reaching out to farmers in the deep interiors and isolated pockets of Maharashtra and connecting them to ready markets using world-class technology and helping them get the much deserved price for their product.

As the end consumer is facing a shortage of vegetables and fruits due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Farmpal has managed to meet over four times the volume of the usual demand and has ensured that retailers like Big Bazar, Big basket and several others have enough stock to meet consumer needs. Plying over five to six trucks from Pune to the farms on a daily basis, Farmpal is reaching out to close to 200 farmers, buying the produce from them and supplying it to the retailers in record time while maintaining hygiene and quality. To ensure that farmers do not face any monetary stress, the company is ensuring immediate payments and is also giving the option to farmers of either bringing the produce to their collection centers or offering to pick it up from their farms.
