Fatal Accident on Pune-Nashik Highway Claims Three Lives, Swift Car Engulfed in Flames

Manchar, 17th February 2024: In a tragic incident this morning at Bhorarwadi Tambe Mala, three kilometers south of Manchar on the Pune-Nashik National Highway, a collision involving a Swift car, a tempo, and a parked container resulted in a fiery blaze. The accident claimed the lives of three young individuals traveling in the Swift car.

The deceased, identified as residents of Rakshewadi in Khed taluka, were unable to escape the inferno that engulfed their vehicle. The driver of the Swift car and the tempo, fortunately, survived the collision. The deceased victims are yet to be officially named, pending further investigations.

The sequence of events unfolded when a container with registration number GJ 01 WB 1737, bound for Pune, was parked on the Pune-Nashik highway in the Bhorwadi area near Manchar. Early this morning, a collision occurred between a tempo with registration MH 12 QG 3351 and a Swift car bearing registration MH 14 DT 0295 at the same location.

The impact of the collision propelled the tempo forward, causing it to collide with the stationary container, while the Swift car caught fire, ultimately resulting in complete destruction. The intensity of the accident led to a traffic standstill in the surrounding area.

Details regarding the deceased victims are awaited, as the police authorities, including Police Inspector Arun Phuge, Police Sub-Inspector Someshwar Shete, Police Naik Rajendra Hille, and Nandkumar Adhariyarntana, are investigating the matter.
