Pune: Market Yard Women Bouncers Face Charges in Youth Assault Case

Market Yard, 17th February 2024: A 23-year-old youth was brutally beaten up by four female bouncers in the Market Yard area, leading to the registration of a case against Sheila Vishal Gaikwad and three other unidentified women at the Market Yard Police Station.

According to the police report, the victim and the accused are not acquainted with each other. The complainant, whose business is located near the Sharada Gajanan Temple in Market Yard, was assaulted while on the side of the road by one of the accused.

The altercation began when the accused confronted the complainant, alleging that he had pushed one of them. In an attempt to document the incident, the complainant started recording a video, only to face a barrage of verbal and physical abuse from the accused, including kicks and punches.

The situation escalated further when, during the struggle, one of the assailants bit the complainant on the hand. The victim’s mother and onlookers intervened to defuse the confrontation, prompting one of the bouncers to issue a menacing threat, stating, “Just look what we will do to you.”

The Market Yard Police are currently conducting a thorough investigation into the incident. The actual motive behind the attack remains unclear, as the complainant and the accused had no prior interaction. Authorities are now working to identify the three other bouncers involved in the assault.
