Female Student Fights Back Against Molester, Brave Act of Self-Defense at Pune University Library
Pune, 21st May 2023: In a distressing incident at Jaykar Library of Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU), a female student was molested by a young man while studying. In a brave act of self-defence, the student retaliated by throwing chilli powder in the assailant’s eyes and delivering a punch. Eyewitnesses reported that the young man had been harassing and staring at the student for several days prior to the incident.
Jaykar Library is a popular study spot for students preparing for competitive exams, making this incident all the more alarming. Upon receiving information about the altercation, security guards swiftly intervened. However, the student involved in the incident has not yet lodged a complaint with the Chatushringi police station.
This incident follows a similar occurrence a few days ago, where another student resorted to physical action by slapping a young man who was engaging in teasing behavior within the university premises. These incidents highlight the urgent need for enhanced security measures and vigilance within educational institutions to ensure the safety and well-being of students.
