Dattawadi, 16th August 2025: Panic gripped the Dattawadi area of Pune on Friday morning after a major fire broke out at the well-known Asha Hotel. The incident, which occurred around 8 am, left one hotel employee seriously injured and caused significant damage to the kitchen.

According to officials, thick smoke was first noticed coming from the hotel’s kitchen, triggering alarm among staff, customers, and nearby residents. The fire brigade was immediately alerted, and three fire tenders rushed to the spot. After a swift operation, the blaze was brought under control, preventing it from spreading to other parts of the building.

Preliminary estimates suggest the fire may have been caused by a gas leakage or a short circuit. The injured employee was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Fire brigade and police teams have inspected the site, and CCTV footage is being examined to determine the exact cause of the incident. Officials confirmed that while no lives were lost, there was extensive damage to kitchen equipment and supplies.
