Firemen Will Be Given Status Of ‘Martyr’ Who Died In Accident At Dapodi

Pimpri, July 7, 2021: Mayor Mai Dhore informed that the fire a brigade of Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation, who died in the accident at Dapodi has been given the status of “Martyr” by the Government of Maharashtra. The state government has approved to provide these concessions and benefits from the funds of the Municipal Corporation.

While rescuing a person trapped in a 25 feet deep pit dug at Dapodi on December 1, 2019, Municipal Corporation’s fireman Vishal Hanamantrao Jadhav died on duty while trapped in a mound of mud. He risked his life to show extraordinary courage in the rescue operation.

A resolution was passed in the general body meeting of Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation regarding granting “Martyr” status to the employees of Kalyan Dombivali Municipal Corporation and Mumbai Municipal Corporation on the basis of “Martyr” status and concessions. The government has decided to grant “martyr” status to the late fireman Vishal Jadhav after his death. The order in this regard has been issued by the Urban Development Department recently. While taking action against Naxalism, the government has approved to give concessions and benefits to the families of Shaheed Jadhav from the funds of Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation based on concessions given to the officers and employees killed and injured in the Naxal attack.

As mentioned in the order, the families of the martyred officers and employees should be given one flat free of cost at the place of their choice in the revenue department which includes the residential district or the residential district where MHADA has a scheme. If the flat is not available, cash should be paid at the rate of Rs. 3,000 per square foot according to the permissible area. This will allow 1000 square feet for Class A, 800 square feet for Class B, 750 square feet for Class C and 600 square feet for Class D. One of the family members should be appointed to the government service on a compassionate basis as per the educational qualification and qualification.

Sanugrah grant of Rs. 25 lakhs will be given in the joint name of the legal heir as a term deposit. This fund cannot be withdrawn for 10 years. However, the interest amount can be withdrawn every month. Domestic school and college education will be free for the two victims. Assuming that the deceased officer and employee are not dead, the salary received by the person while in service will be paid to his family. The salary of the person will be fixed on the assumption that the person has been promoted from the post he was holding at the time of death to the senior post at the time he is eligible for promotion and accordingly the salary will be payable till the date of retirement. It has been mentioned in the order that even the annual salary increase will be permissible as per the rules during this period.
