First ‘Drive-in Vaccination Centre’ In Pune Inaugurated

Pune, 31st May 2021: As the second wave of Covid-19 is dying down, the state government is trying to get as many vaccines as they can for the state. Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Ajit Pawar in an online inauguration gave a green flag to the first ‘Drive-in Vaccination centre’ in Pune city. The centre is situated in the Hadapsar area.

“The state government is putting together every effort to make the vaccines available in greater numbers and is committed to vaccinating every eligible citizen in the state”, said Pawar.

He added that a Drive-in Vaccination Center started in the Hadapsar will be an easy service for senior and differently-abled citizens. “While it is a matter of satisfaction that the number of corona patients in the city, including the state, is declining, it is important to be cautioned against the potential third wave”, said Pawar.

On the occasion of the birth anniversary of Punyashlok Rajmata Ahilya Devi Holkar, in the memory of her dedication towards her work, the Deputy CM expressed his gratitude he also said that the state health system including doctors, nurses, and more are fighting with all its might to overcome the Corona crisis. The government is constantly striving to vaccinate every citizen of the state to defeat Corona and is ready to buy vaccines from abroad. He said the state government was making efforts to accelerate the corona vaccination process by expeditiously providing space in Pune for the plant of Bharat Biotech which is a vaccine production company and will soon start its production.

 

“We are successfully coping with the second wave of Corona, given the potential threat of the third wave, no situation will go unnoticed. The state government has also formed a task force of paediatricians regarding the same. We all want to face the Covid crisis together by being vigilant so that other communicable diseases do not increase along with Covid in the rainy season”, said Pawar. He appealed to the citizens to strictly follow the guidelines to defeat the Covid crisis.
