Pune: Airport ranks 154th Asia pacific of airport service quality index
Pune: The Airport Council International (ACI), released the latest rankings of airport service quality (ASQ) index, in which Pune airport ranked 154th in Asia pacific. The previous year, it stood at 110th place.
The Lohegoan airport, Pune has average passenger traffic of 1200-1,800 with 38 flight movements, but due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the traffic has been reduced. The airport ranked 61st in 2019. These airports are rated on the basis of 33 parameters which mainly includes the feedback of the passengers, on the various facilities provided at the airport like parking space, staff at the airport, access to the wifi, availability of clean washrooms, waiting areas comfort ability, speed of baggage delivery, restaurant services, ATM and currency changers.

This year Pune airport saw a slide in ranking, it drooped 34 spots on the airport quality index. Many experts believe that there is a need to improve passengers facilities. Lohegaon airport is procured by Defence has its own limitations and will not be able to cater for the need of the growing city and a new civil airport is very much needed to meet the demand.
