First Oxygen Express Reaches Loni Station In Pune

Pune, 12th May 2021: Indian Railways is coming forward to assist the people of the nation in the COVID pandemic by carrying oxygen-filled tankers of liquid oxygen from one place to another through Oxygen Express.

In the same sequence, a freight train carrying four liquid oxygen tankers from Angul in Odisha arrived at Pune’s Loni station late on Tuesday night. During this, Divisional Railway Manager Renu Sharma herself attended and supervised the arrangement with Additional Divisional Railway Manager Saharsh Bajpai, Prakash Upadhyay. On this occasion, many railway officials, employees were engaged in the process of unloading the tankers from the wagons.

On the demand of the state government, liquid medical oxygen has been brought in four tankers in this Oxygen Express. Earlier in Maharashtra, seven tankers of liquid oxygen were transported from Visakhapatnam to Nagpur and Nashik Road, three tankers from Hapa to Kalamboli and eight tankers from Angul to Nagpur.

The oxygen tankers that arrived in Pune have been given to the state government officials for further distribution arrangements.

The contribution of Railways in the country’s efforts to prevent the spread of Covid-19 by accessing liquid medical oxygen across the country continues unabated.
