Pune, 8th July 2026: Residents of Hinjawadi Phase-3 and nearby areas have renewed their demand for a permanent solution to recurring power outages, alleging that unreliable electricity supply has continued for nearly five years despite repeated complaints to the authorities.

Abhishek Singh, Managing Committee member of E Wing CHS, said the persistent outages have become a major inconvenience for thousands of residents living in Hinjawadi Phase-3 and surrounding localities.

“Residents of societies such as Melange Residences, Coral, Tinsel County, 32 Pinewood, Livmo and Fusion, along with the residents of Bhoirwadi village, have been continuously suffering due to poor power infrastructure and unreliable electricity supply. Despite repeated complaints and follow-ups over the last five years, no permanent solution has been provided,” Singh said.

He claimed that the situation is particularly frustrating because nearby commercial establishments continue to receive uninterrupted electricity during many of these outages.

“What is particularly concerning is that several nearby companies and commercial establishments continue to receive uninterrupted power supply during these outages, while residential areas remain without electricity for extended periods. As consumers, we pay electricity charges just like any other customer and deserve the same level of service and reliability,” he said.

According to Singh, the recurring power cuts have significantly affected the daily lives of residents, including senior citizens, children, students and professionals working from home.

“The recurring outages are severely impacting the daily lives of thousands of residents. Senior citizens, children, students and working professionals who depend on electricity for work-from-home arrangements and essential household needs are bearing the brunt of these disruptions,” he said.

Calling for immediate intervention, Singh urged the Maharashtra Government and the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) to investigate the root cause of the outages and strengthen the area’s electricity infrastructure.

“We request the authorities to investigate the root cause of the recurring power outages, upgrade and strengthen the electricity infrastructure serving residential communities, provide a clear timeline for permanent corrective measures, and establish a transparent communication mechanism to keep residents informed during outages and maintenance activities,” Singh said.

He added that the appeal has also been addressed to the Chief Minister’s Office and the Prime Minister’s Office, seeking urgent action to resolve what residents describe as a long-pending issue.

“We urge the Maharashtra Government, MSEDCL, the Chief Minister’s Office and the Prime Minister’s Office to take immediate action and ensure a permanent resolution to this long-standing issue. We look forward to prompt intervention and a lasting solution for the residents of Hinjawadi Phase-3 and surrounding areas,” Singh said.

MSEDCL’s response on the residents’ allegations was not immediately available at the time of publication.
