Pune, 7th May 2025: In the wake of Operation Sindoor, India’s recent military counteroffensive in response to the Pahalgam terror attack, several domestic flight routes have been disrupted, including key connections from Pune Airport. Authorities confirmed that air services to five cities have been temporarily suspended due to security-related restrictions at destination airports.

Flights from Pune to Amritsar, Chandigarh, Kishangarh, Rajkot, and Jodhpur stand cancelled. The ripple effects of Operation Sindoor, including heightened airspace monitoring and temporary shutdowns at sensitive airports, have necessitated these changes, officials said.

The Pune Airport Authority stated that all impacted passengers were promptly informed through airline notifications, airport announcements, and digital platforms. On-ground assistance teams were deployed to guide travelers, while airlines offered full refunds or alternate bookings in line with Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) guidelines.

“Passengers affected due to flight disruptions were attended to in accordance with DGCA norms. Our airport teams ensured that those facing inconvenience were provided the necessary support,” said a Pune Airport official.

Operation Sindoor, launched following the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam that killed 26 civilians, including several from Pune, led to increased security alerts nationwide. The operation’s aftereffects have extended beyond defence corridors, now affecting civil aviation and travel plans.

Despite the disruptions, Pune Airport assured passengers of its continued commitment to safety and service. “We remain fully prepared to assist anyone experiencing inconvenience due to the recent developments. Passengers are encouraged to reach out to their respective airlines for further assistance,” the official added.

Travelers are advised to check flight statuses before heading to the airport and follow official airline communication channels for real-time updates.
