Panaji, 27th May 2025: In a significant boost to regional air travel, FLY91 has announced the addition of Solapur to its expanding network, marking a strategic step in enhancing connectivity to underserved regions of India. Bookings are now open for the new Goa–Solapur route, which positions FLY91 as a key player in last-mile air transport solutions.

With this launch, FLY91 now connects eight destinations across India, including four within Maharashtra—Pune, Jalgaon, Sindhudurg, and Solapur. The new route not only improves access between the coastal hub of Goa and the industrial heart of Solapur but also unlocks easier access to five prominent pilgrimage centres in western Maharashtra.

Solapur, known for its textile and industrial significance, serves as a transit point to spiritual destinations such as:
Pandharpur (Vitthal-Rukmini Temple)
Tuljapur (Tulja Bhavani Temple)
Akkalkot (Swami Samarth Maharaj Temple)
Gangapur (Sri Narasimha Saraswati Swami Math)
Bhimashankar (Jyotirlinga shrine)
These sites draw millions of pilgrims each year, particularly from Maharashtra and the Konkan region. The introduction of direct flights from Goa makes these spiritual centres more accessible, saving travellers significant time and effort.

“The launch of the Goa–Solapur route underlines our commitment to bridging connectivity gaps in India,” said Manoj Chacko, Managing Director and CEO of FLY91. “Solapur is not only an important industrial centre but also a vital link in Maharashtra’s spiritual map. This route will benefit pilgrims, business travellers, and tourists alike.”

Chacko also extended gratitude to key stakeholders for supporting the expansion. “We are thankful to the Ministry of Civil Aviation, Government of Maharashtra, DGCA, Airports Authority of India, Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited, and other partners who have enabled our growth into Solapur.”

FLY91, based out of Manohar International Airport in Goa, currently connects regional hubs like Hyderabad and Pune to emerging tier II and tier III cities such as Jalgaon and Sindhudurg.
