Fog Alert and Rainfall in Pune: IMD Forecasts Weather Conditions for the Week
Pune, 9th January 2024: An advisory has been issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Pune, cautioning residents of Pune city and its surrounding areas about the high likelihood of fog in the late night and early morning hours over the next 48 hours.
Anupam Kashyapi, the head of the weather forecasting division at IMD Pune, emphasized the potential for serious visibility threats during this period. As a precautionary measure, commuters are advised to exercise caution and move at slower speeds to ensure road safety.
Additionally, today witnessed light rainfall in various parts of Pune. Rainfall measurements till 3 pm are as follows:
– Lavale: 4.5 mm
– Chinchwad: 3.5 mm
– Magarpatta: 3.5 mm
– Pashan: 2.0 mm
– Shivajinagar: 1.6 mm
– Lohegaon: 0.4 mm
Looking ahead, the IMD has provided the following weather predictions for the upcoming days:
10/01/2024: Partly cloudy sky, with drizzle or very light to light rain very likely. Shallow fog is expected in the morning hours.
11/01/2024: Mainly clear sky becoming partly cloudy towards the afternoon or evening.
12/01/2024: Mainly clear sky.
