Former Afghanistan Consul General Zakia Wardak Meets Students In Pune
Katraj, 3rd October 2021: Former Afghanistan Consul General Zakia Wardak met about 20 Afghan students in Pune and promised to help them in her personal capacity. The meeting was held on Friday (October 1) at Sarhad College in Katraj.
A student who attended the meeting told PunekarNews.in, “We discussed many issues. But Zakia mam is a former Consul General so we do not have much hope but she promised to help in her personal capacity.”
Zakia Wardak was the first female Consul General of Afghanistan in Mumbai till the Taliban took over power in her country in August this year.
Pune-based NGO Sarhad, which works for students living in conflict zones, has said it would adopt 1,000 Afghan students till the situation stabilised in their country.
