Former Jalna SP Tushar Doshi Appointed As SP Of Pune GRP

Pune, 24th November 2023: Tushar Doshi, the Superintendent of Police in Jalna, who was placed on compulsory leave following a lathi-charge incident during a protest at Antarwali Sarati for Maratha reservation, was transferred to the post of Superintendent of police with the Maharashtra State’s Crime Investigation Department (CID) in Pune. Today, he was appointed as the SP of Government Railway Police (GRP).

After the lathicharge there was public outcry and demands for the suspension of the officer. In response, the Maharashtra state government had initially placed Doshi on compulsory leave pending further action. However, the government has now altered its earlier decision, assigning Doshi to the role of Superintendent of Police, GRP, Pune.

Doshi has earlier served with the Pune City Police and Pune unit of the Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS).
