PUNE 27 oct 2018 : Former NCP Leader, Tariq Anwar, met Rahul Gandhi on 27th October 2018 in New Delhi and declared to join hands with the Congress party. His official entry as the member of the party will be in Bihar.

About one month back, he left the NCP and also gave up his Lok Sabha membership on September 28 2018 after Sharad Pawar’s defence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the Rafale fighter jet deal.

Haji Zakir Shaikh, president of All India Qaumi Tanzeem, Western Maharashtra, while talking to Punekarnews,said that an All India Qaumi Tanzeem’s Rashtriya Ekta Sammelan was held on 23rd October 2018. Which was attended by Tariq Anwar and other dignitaries like Hon. Hamid Ansari (Former Vice President of India) and others. Where Mr. Anwar talked of taking all the parties together opposing acts of Prime Minister Narendra Modi especially one like Rafale Deal. And finally he met Rahul Gandhi on 27th October at his residence, Jan Pat, formally joining hands with the Congress Party.

In 1990s, Mr. Anwar along with Sharad Pawar and P.A. Sangma broke away from AICC, opposing ‘foreign origin person’ – Sonia Gandhi, as the party president and formed NCP.
