Former Tata Sons Chairman Cyrus Mistry Dies In Road Accident

Palghar, 4th September 2022: Former Tata Sons chairman Cyrus Mistry (54) died in a road accident today afternoon in Palghar district near Mumbai in Maharashtra. In the pictures that have come out from the accident spot, it is visible that the car collided with the divider.

 

The front part has been badly damaged. It is seen in the pictures that the safety balloons of the Mercedes Benz car were also opened after the accident, but despite this Mistry’s life could not be saved.

 

The accident happened when he was on his way back from Ahmedabad to Mumbai. Apart from Mistry, three other people were in the car. Two of these have died. The other two people have been admitted to the nearest hospital.

 

Mistry, Jehangir Dinsha Pandole, Daris Pandole and Anayata Pandole were in the car, police said. Among them, Daris Pandole and Anayata Pandole were injured in the accident.

 

Palghar district superintendent of police Balasaheb Patil said that the accident happened around 3.15 pm. The accident happened on the bridge over the Surya river. The accident took place when Mistry’s car rammed into a divider.

 

The accident happened within three months of the death of Cyrus’ father Pallonji Shapoorji Mistry. Billionaire Pallonji Mistry passed away on June 28 at the age of 94. Cyrus, the youngest son of the Mistry family, took the Shapoorji Group to new heights of success in a very short span of time.

 

Cyrus Mistry used to stay away from the media glare. He followed in the footsteps of his father- Pallonji Shapoorji Mistry and understood the nuances of business. Cyrus Mistry was born in Ireland. Pallonji Mistry married an Irish woman and later became a citizen of Ireland. At the same time, Cyrus Mistry did his studies in London. He studied at London Business School.

 

Cyrus Mistry was married to Rohiqa Chagla, the daughter of lawyer Iqbal Chagla and granddaughter of jurist M.C. Chagla. The couple have two sons, Firoz Mistry and Zahan Mistry.
