Pune, 30th April 2026: The Metro authorities have proposed over 30 stations across four new corridors and they have initiated a detailed discussions on their locations and design. The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) and Maha Metro are working together to finalise station alignments, entry and exit points, and the space required for each facility.

A joint meeting in this regard was held at the PMC headquarters on Tuesday focusing on integrating Metro infrastructure with the city’s road network.

The four proposed routes will be taken up in phases. Preliminary work has already started on the Swargate–Katraj underground corridor and the Vanaz–Chandni Chowk stretch. Construction on the Ramwadi–Wagholi and Khadakwasla–Swargate–Kharadi lines is expected to commence in the coming months.

Officials said lessons from Phase I have prompted a more cautious approach this time, as entry and exit points at two stations had to be altered earlier following objections from residents. Authorities are now aiming to avoid such issues through better planning and coordination.

The civic officials have asked Metro authorities to provide precise layouts of proposed stations and land requirements to ensure smooth traffic flow in busy areas.
