Loni Kalbhor, 30th January 2024: Deputy Commissioner of Pune Police (Zone 5), R Raja, has taken strict action by suspending four policemen from the Loni Kalbhor police station for their alleged involvement in the illegal sale of seized bikes.

The suspended policemen have been identified as Police Constable Dayanand Gaikwad, Police Naik Santosh Andure, Police Constable Tukaram Pandhare, and Police Constable Rajesh Darade. DCP Raja initiated the suspension after they were found to have received around Rs 4 lakh from the unauthorized sale of the vehicles.

An inquiry will be conducted to thoroughly investigate the actions of these police constables. It is suspected that they sold 18 confiscated vehicles to a scrap dealer in Uruli Kanchan.

DCP Raja expressed concern, stating, “The crime came to light when the vehicles were being segregated.”

As part of the disciplinary action, the suspended constables have been instructed to report to the Commissionerate until the matter is thoroughly investigated. A case will be registered against them once the inquiry is completed, ensuring accountability for their alleged involvement in the illegal sale of seized bikes.
