Four Students Killed In Accident On Pune-Mumbai Expressway
Pune, 10th April 2022: Four students from Pune who were on the way to Mumbai for sightseeing died in an accident on the Pune-Mumbai Expressway yesterday afternoon near MCA stadium, Gahunje.
The deceased have been identified as Shivam Rahul Kokate (19), Priyam Satyendra Rathi (20) of Narayan Peth, Hrishikesh Shinde (21) of Bibvewadi and Mohnish Sangam Vishwakarma (20) of Dhankawadi.
According to police, the incident took place around 3 pm. The students were traveling in a Skoda car to Mumbai. The speeding car hit a stationary container truck from behind near Gahunje.
Senior Police Inspector Mane of Shirgaon police station said that the truck had broken down and was standing on the roadside. The speeding car hit it from behind. The injured students were rushed to a hospital at Somatane, however, they were declared dead on arrival.
