Fox Saved by Local Farmers After Hit-and-Run on Ashtavinayak Highway
Junnar, 19th June 2024: While crossing the road on the Narayangaon-Ranjangaon Ashtavinayak highway, a fox was injured when an unknown vehicle collided with it in Jadhavwadi. Thanks to the vigilance of local farmers, the fox’s life was saved. This incident occurred at 6 AM today.
The fox was hit by an unknown vehicle while crossing the road between the villages of Jadhavwadi and Ranjani on the Ashtavinayak Highway near Vaishnavi Hotel. Its back leg was injured, rendering it unable to walk. Upon witnessing the incident, local farmers Devidas Jadhav and Ramesh Pokharkar moved the injured fox to the side of the road. After informing Police Patil Yogesh Jadhav about the accident, he immediately contacted the Maharashtra Forest Department.
Officers and employees from the Forest Department arrived at the scene, treated the injured fox, and then took it into custody for further treatment. The villagers of Jadhavwadi praised the quick actions of the two farmers, Devidas Jadhav and Ramesh Pokharkar, for saving the fox’s life.
