Pune, 24th April 2024: A voter awareness campaign, “Vote Kar Punekar,” jointly organized by the Petrol Dealers Association Pune (PDAP), Art of Living (AOL) Maharashtra, and Maha NGO Foundation, was inaugurated in Pune city on Sunday evening.

In response to an appeal by Art of Living, various NGOs and social organizations have rallied together to ensure the success of the initiative. PDAP and Maha NGO Federation have extended their full support and are actively participating in the campaign.

The grand launch event, commemorating the world’s largest democracy, “Vote Kar Punekar,” commenced at Central Park, Pune. Over 700 AOL devotees, including teachers, volunteers, and citizens of Pune, gathered for the Rudra Puja and Hanuman Chalisa chanting in the presence of Swami Bramhachaitanyaji.

Present at the launch were Dhruv Ruparel of Petrol Dealers Association Pune, AOL Maharashtra Apex Body Members Rajay Shastare and Pandurang Shelke, Shekhar Mundada (president of Maha NGO Federation), and Manoj Pochat of PPCR.

As part of the campaign, members of PDA Pune will offer free fuel worth Rs. 50 on the purchase of 1 litre of oil when voters show their inked finger. This scheme will remain valid until May 20, 2024.

The voting for the Pune Lok Sabha constituency is scheduled for May 13, coinciding with the birthday of Art of Living Founder and Spiritual Leader Sri Sri Ravishankar. Various service activities will be initiated on this auspicious occasion.

The AOL family, along with PDA Pune and MahaNGO, along with other NGOs, have committed to increasing the voting percentage in Pune. To facilitate this, a mobile phone application and website have been launched, allowing voters to easily locate their voting booth by scanning the QR code or visiting the website.

AOL volunteers will engage in door-to-door outreach to raise awareness about voting, while also providing assistance to senior citizens and others at their voting centers. Additionally, over 20,000 water bottles will be distributed to police personnel on duty.

AOL has a history of providing this service during elections, and this time, the initiative aims for an even broader impact, with the support of numerous NGOs, with approximately 10 more set to join the effort by next week.
