From Kashmir to Pune: Women Cricketers Gear Up for National-Level Matches!

Pune, 15th March 2025: In a significant initiative to promote sports, unity, and national integration, a 15-member women’s cricket team from North Kashmir has embarked on a tour to Pune under Operation Sadhbhavana. This initiative is being organized in collaboration with the Chinar Corps and Aseem Foundation, an NGO dedicated to fostering connections between communities from border regions and the rest of India.
Scheduled from 12th to 26th March 2025, the tour aims to provide young Kashmiri women cricketers with exposure to high-level competition, skill development opportunities and interactions with seasoned players and coaches. During their stay in Pune, the team will participate in three matches at the Maharashtra Cricket Association (MCA) ground, featuring Ranji players, allowing them to experience national-level cricket first-hand. Additionally, they will visit the National Defence Academy (NDA) and Sports Museum, offering them a deeper understanding of the city’s military heritage and sporting legacy.
The tour also includes interactive sessions with renowned women coaches, Maharashtra’s top cricketers, and a JKCA selector, providing mentorship and valuable insights into professional cricket. Exhibition matches will be followed by discussions with Pune’s sports fraternity, fostering networking opportunities and learning from experienced professionals.
