Goa Police Busts Rave Party, 23 People Arrested With Drugs

Panaji, August 16, 2020: In a late-night raid, Goa Police on Saturday busted a ‘rave’ party at a hotel in Vagator. Police claimed to have arrested 23 persons including foreigners and seized drugs worth Rs nine lakh.

The raid was conducted at Firangpani Villas and drugs including Cocaine, MDMA, Ecstasy Tablets and Charas, were seized from there.

Now an FIR has been registered against the organisers as well as people who attended the party. They have been charged for offences under relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. The party was organised by foreigners.

At present, tourism has taken a major hit in Goa due to the Coronavirus disease (COVID19) pandemic. Though the state has reopened for tourists, people are from outside are not visiting in large numbers.
