Good News Pune: Coronavirus positive woman delivers a child who tested negative; 27 patients discharged

Pune, April 20, 2020: In the last 72 hours, 27 patients have been cured of Coronavirus COVID19 and discharged from various hospitals in Pune, informed mayor Murlidhar Mohol. 

 

“There has been no death in the last 24 hours. On Sunday, with 42 new cases, the total number of positive cases reached 586 out of which 56 persons have been cured and discharged, while 49 people have lost their lives due to COVID19”, he said.

 

Talking about good news, Mohol said, “A 25-year-old pregnant woman admitted in Sassoon Hospital for being Coronavirus positive, today delivered a healthy child who has tested negative for COVID19. The child’s weight is 3.5 kg. As the mother is undergoing treatment for Coronavirus, the child has been kept in neonatal ICU.”

 

Till Sunday, the number of positive patients reached 678 in Pune district including 62 from Pimpri Chinchwad and 30 from Pune rural areas. Out of 62, one person has died in Pimpri-Chinchwad, while 17 have been cured and discharged till now.

 

“There were 4200 COVID19 patients in the state of Maharashtra after addition of 552 new patients. Till now 507 Covid19 patients have been cured and discharged from the respective hospitals”, state health minister Rajesh Tope informed.

 

As per the information available, till 8 am today, the number of Coronavirus positive patients reached 17265 out of which 2546 who have been cured and 543 who have died.

 

 All areas in Pune, Pimpri-Chinchwad sealed

As Coronavirus Positive cases are rising day by day in Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad, whole areas under Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) and Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) have been sealed from today till April 27. People will not be allowed to move out of their area. They will have to work from home or stay in their offices/companies.

 

PMC Commissioner Shekhar Gaikwad and PCMC Commissioner Shravan Hardikar issued orders for their respective areas declaring them as containment zone for strict enforcement of curfew. Now all entry, exit points have been closed by police and essential commodities shops will be allowed to operate for a few hours.
