Good News: Water Problems Of Nagar Road Areas To Be Solved With Bhama Askhed Pipeline Inauguration On January 1

Pune, December 31, 2020: Long-awaited Bhama-Askhed water supply line will start in the new year. The line will be inaugurated by Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar and Leader of Opposition Devendra Fadnavis on 1st January.

Pune Mayor Murlidhar Mohol said, “The Bhama-Askhed water supply line will help to solve the problem in the eastern area of the city. Nearly 12 lakh population will get benefits from this. It will also reduce the load on the Lashkar water supply line. The inauguration ceremony will be held at municipal corporation’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Sabhagruh in the new building and only invitees can attend the ceremony.”

The scheme is designed for the water supply of 200 MLD. It will cover 58 sq km area of the eastern part of Pune city along the Nagar road for the projected population of 14.50 lakh up to 2041.

The areas that will benefit from the project are Kalas, Sangamwadi, Yerawada, Lohegaon, Dhanori, Kalyaninagar, Vadgaonsheri, Kharadi and Wagholi.
