New Delhi, 20th January 2024: In the eagerness of the Ram Mandir consecration ceremony, the government has initiated measures to combat misinformation circulating on various sites and social media platforms. The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting issued an advisory, urging caution due to the recent surge in unverified, provocative, and misleading messages on social media, which have the potential to disrupt communal harmony and public order.
The advisory specifically warns news publications, private satellite TV channels, and digital media outlets against disseminating false or misleading content during these sensitive times. Social media platforms are also advised to refrain from displaying or publishing such information to prevent the spread of misinformation that could adversely affect social harmony and public order.
As the idol consecration ceremony of Ram Lala approaches on January 22 in Ayodhya, where Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other dignitaries will be present, the government is proactively working to ensure the responsible reporting of accurate information, discouraging the dissemination of false narratives, and maintaining peace and order during this significant event.
