GRAND SEIKO LUXURY WATCH BRAND NOW AT PUNE’S ICONIC CT PUNDOLE & SONS
Pune, September 22, 2018: Seiko, the global watch brand, renowned for its technology and innovation, today inaugurated their exclusive collection of GRAND SEIKO at CT Pundole& Sons, Pune in the presence of Mr Susumu Kawanishi, Senior Vice President – Seiko Watch Corporation, Japan, Mr. Niladri Mazumder, President and Chief Operating Officer- Seiko Watch India, Mr. Cawas Pundole Managing Director and Mr. Hormuz Pundole, Director, CT Pundole.
The concept of Grand Seiko was born from the desire to build the world’s best watch, and the collection continues to push precision in mechanical watches to the limits of timekeeping technology. Since 1960, Grand Seiko has always stayed far ahead in design and technology and continues offering uniqueness and distinctiveness in its design, character, presentation and, more recently, its calibers. In order to further reinforce its unique appeal and to reach out to a wider audience, Grand Seiko in 2017 took a step further and is now an entirely separate brand.
Grand Seiko has lived a truly independent life since Baselworld 2017 and has set out on a new journey to conquer heights of watchmaking excellence and commercial success. The brand expanded its appeal with new design areas. Last year, the range was expanded with Grand Seiko’s sports model and, for 2017, to build on this success the brand has come up with a collection of new sports designs, including a hi-beat diver’s watch and a series of Spring Drive chronographs.

A wide range of Grand Seiko collection will be now available at CT Pundole & Sons. The highlight of the Grand Seiko is the 9S automatic calibre and technical innovations. Grand Seiko 9S Caliber features in three new watches, with a revamped case and a unique dial. The calibre which was first launched in 1988, has evolved over the years and is the epitome of accuracy in the latest 9S85 Hi-Beat 36000 caliber (SBGH267). Grand Seiko is known to understate its accuracy which is mostly a good deal, as the watches always over deliver, and this one comes with a deviation of +3 to -1 seconds per day. The famous Zaratsu polishing makes the platinum 950 case and lugs shine in all its glory.
As a true manufacture, Grand Seiko incorporates the latest technology alongside its breadth of craftsmanship to raise the art of watchmaking to its peak.In addition to the inauguration, a live demonstration of the art of making a GRAND SEIKO watch was organised. The special event was India’s first ever assembly of GRAND SEIKO watch movement demonstrated by Master Watchmaker Satoshi Hiraga, the acclaimed ‘Contemporary Master Watchmaker’ from Japan.
The task of assembling Grand Seiko is borne by the craftsmen who hone their craft to such an extent that they can adjust parts by hand to tolerances of one hundredth of a millimetre. This special event showcased the extremely detailed craftsmanship which ensures the very precise timekeeping delivered by the 9S mechanical movement.With anywhere between 200 and 300 individual parts, GRAND SEIKO’s mechanical watches exhibit a near-perfect consistency of functionality.
